Why do you think McCarthy does not to give the characters names? Why do you think he uses titles like, "the man" and "the boy"? Do you think this could change the feel of a story at all?
i think he dint give names to the chracters becuase it makes them more unknown and make us interested on knowing more about them, and names doesnt change anything.
Probably because the most important thing in the book is the relationship between the father and son and also its the end of the world and they are trying to find safety and civilization their names are not very important.

ReplyDeletemaybe to give the idea that nothing that had meaning before the cataclysm (like names) holds significance after?
ReplyDeleteI think he didnt give names to the charaters because not having names make the characters more mysterious
ReplyDeleteTo make the story more intresting. To give the characters more intresting, and mistirous. The tilttels to have a way to adentify the characters.
