Summary

The end of the world is not something that we like to think about, but it is always in the back of our minds. The Road, by Cormac McCarthy makes you think about what it would be like to live after the world has reached its end. This story follows a man and his young boy. The boy is around 7 or 8 years old and is expected to act much older giving the conditions that they are facing. Though food is very scares, the duo must combat the elements to survive during the winter months. Food is a delicacy and it taken very seriously. The man has to make life changing decisions based in the circumstances that the boy does not agree with most of time. An example of this is when the boy is being threatened by a man with a knife, the father decides to use one of his few bullets to kill the man and save his son.
